How to Calculate Tiles in Floor
Tiles Flooring Calculation
Normally,
We calculate
the tile flooring area in order to find the required number of the tiles for a
given room, we have explained with an example.
Normally,
The flooring is measured in Square meters and Square foot.
Tiles Flooring Calculation :-
Tiles Flooring Calculation |
- First, multiply the length and breadth of room to get the area
Total Room Floor Area =
(1.2 x 1.2) + (1.2 x 2.4) m
= 1.44 + 2.88 m
= 4.32 m2
- Second, calculate
the total length of the room, to find skirting tiles requirement,
From
the above image, we can find the total length
Total length of the
room = (2.4+1.2+1.2+1.2+2.4) – Door Width assume 0.9 x 2.1
= 8.4 m – 0.9 m
= 7.5
m
We have assumed 0.100 m as skirting tiles height.
Skirting Tiles area= Total
length of the room × Skirting Tile height
=
7.1 m × 0.100 m
=
0.71 m2
Total Area = Total
Floor Area + Skirting Tiles area
=
6 m2 + 0.71 m2
= 6.71 m2
·
Third, calculate
the area of one tile
Here We are going to use 0.6 m × 0.6 m
(600 mm × 600 mm) tiles,
Area of one tile = 0.6 m ×
0.6 m
= 0.36 m2
·
Finally, the
total number of tiles required for the above room
Number of Tiles required = (Total Area / Area of one tile) × Wastage*
= (4.32 m2 /
0.36 m2) × 10%
= 12 + 1.2 (say 2)
Number of Tiles required in room is = 14 nos.
